Modesto Junior College (MJC) TRIO/Educational Talent Search program is designed to help young people stay in school, improve their grade point averages, graduate from high school and go to college.

The Educational Talent Search (ETS) program serves 600 junior high and high school students by offering a comprehensive program of educational and motivational intervention strategies.

TRIO/ETS is administered by the Yosemite Community College District. It is funded by the U.S. Department of Education and endorsed by Modesto City Schools.

How do I qualify?

In order to be elegible for admission into ETS, a student must meet the following requirements:

1. Low income, according to the guidelines established by the U.S. Department of Education.
2. Potential first-generation college student.
3. U.S. citizen or permanent resiident
4. Enrollment in one of the participating schools
   • Hanshaw Middle School
   • Mark Twain Junior High School
   • Thomas Downey High School
   • Modesto High School
   • Elliot Alternative Education Center
5. Ages 11 thourgh 27
6. Completed application
7. GPA of a 2.0 or higher
