cause. Our annual Science Challenge is a very popular event! Gather your

BIKE RIDE ALONG THE TUOLUMNE

Meg Gonzales of the Tuolumne River Trust
will be our guide on this leisurely ride as we explore the natural world along
the Tuolumne and learn about the future River Parkway.

COSUMNES RIVER PRESERVE FIELD TRIP
DATE: November 15
TIME: 12 noon—7 PM
PLACE: Cosumnes River Preserve
COST: $15/member $20/nonmember
GUIDE: Teri Curtis, MJC Biology
Stroll along wetlands, through Valley Oak
forests, and view Sandhill Cranes at sunset, all in the beautiful Cosumnes River
Preserve. This trip will include a stop in the CRP visitor center, a 3 mile
nature walk on a maintained trail, and viewing Sandhill Cranes as they fly in at
sunset to roost for the night. Participants should take or wear: walking shoes
(as well as comfortable clothes), sack lunch, water, snack, day pack, and a
jacket. Binoculars are recommended; binoculars (economical model) and a spotting
scope will be available.

SCIENCE ON SATURDAY
FALLING INTO AUTUMN

Learn why trees are so important to us through collection, observation, and a
tour of the trees on the MJC campus as well as the life cycle of a tree. Make
an miniature acorn pillow to take home. Falling into a pile a leaves is included
in this program. Dress in play clothes.
