Modesto Junior College is guided by our Vision, Mission and Values , our Strategic Plan and our institutional priorities. At the beginning of 2008 the MJC President, in collaboration with the College Council and the YCCD Chancellor, established four institutional priorities:
As economic forces and the corresponding enrollment growth and state budget cuts have evolved, the direction and complexity of these priorities has also evolved. However MJC's concentration on these priorities remains, with the ultimate goal of continuing to meet the educational needs of our community and provide our students with classes and services of exceptional quality!
The MJC Strategic Plan guides the entire college community as it undergoes a continuing cycle of planning, program review and budgeting. Additionally, in June of 2009, College Council identified three goals from the 2008-2013 Strategic Plan as mission critical for the 2009-10 year:
Goal 1: Modesto Junior College will continue to foster the success of all students by providing access to a broad array of quality, relevant teaching and learning programs, and appropriate services.
Goal 5: MJC will collaboratively develop a staffing plan that includes realistic outcomes of program review for both instructional and student services programs, including attention to potential growth areas, program decline, and impending retirements.
Goal 10: MJC will improve the planning and budget process to foster an environment of informed participation and budgetary understanding.
"These are the college's institutional priorities. We must all stay
focused and keep our eye on the prize. This is our opportunity
to build a culture of institutional planning and measuring our
effectiveness." --Dr. Richard D. Rose, MJC President
