President's Office

Welcome to the MJC President's Office!

Modesto Junior College is guided by our Vision, Mission and Values , our Strategic Plan and our institutional priorities. At the beginning of 2008 the MJC President, in collaboration with the College Council and the YCCD Chancellor, established four institutional priorities:

Budget
Enrollment Management
Accreditation
Measure E Bond Projects

As economic forces and the corresponding enrollment growth and state budget cuts have evolved, the direction and complexity of these priorities has also evolved. However MJC's concentration on these priorities remains, with the ultimate goal of continuing to meet the educational needs of our community and provide our students with classes and services of exceptional quality!

The MJC Strategic Plan guides the entire college community as it undergoes a continuing cycle of planning, program review and budgeting. Additionally, each year the College identifies the several of the Strategic Plan goals as mission-critical for the next year. During an all-day workshop in August of 2011, the Planning and Budget and Accreditation Institutional Effectiveness Committees selected the following three Strategic Plan goals on which to focus for the 2011-12 year:

Goal 1 - Modesto Junior College will continue to foster the success of all students by providing access to a broad array of quality, relevant teaching and learning programs, and appropriate services.

Goal 4 - Leadership responsible for governance at MJC will create a climate that empowers all MJC employees to be engaged in the campus community and that encourages respect, trust and integrity through open communication and professional development.

Goal 10 - MJC will improve the planning and budget process to foster an environment of informed participation and budgetary understanding.
