Overview of MJC Diversity-Equity Task Force

The MJC Task Force on Diversity/Equity was established in the fall of 2010 by the MJC president, Dr. Loewenstein. This decision arose from the requirements for Diversity training within the college's Title V grant. Peggy Kroll reported that it would be difficult to reach the grant's stated objective that “75% of all staff will receive diversity and equity training by September of 2014” unless diversity is addressed in college-wide forums such as Institute Day, all-staff trainings, division/departmental training or other venues.  Dr. Loewenstein appointed George Boodrookas, Linda Hoile and Peggy Kroll to establish a Task Force to assist in planning trainings and to pursue other initiatives that will assist MJC in accomplishing this objective.
