The Modesto Junior College Great Valley Museum and Science, Mathematics and Engineering Division are offering a traveling teacher to visit sixth grade classrooms to present a learning experience entitled "Energy 411" at no cost to the school.
Students will have the opportunity to learn about energy conservation and how electricity is generated. As part of the learning experience, nine stations will be set up of hands-on activities and a take-home activity box will be provided for each students. In addition, classes can earn a $50 Nasco card for their classroom by gathering data about utilization of the box's contents.
This free exciting program is offered to all schools in the MID service area through a partnership with Modesto Irrigation District and Nasco. Interested schools can contact Molly Flemate at 209.575.6196 or email flematem@mjc.edu.
