The Modesto Junior College Spirit Club will hold cheerleading auditions on Tuesday, June 22 at 3 p.m. in the second floor dance studio of the Performing and Media Arts Center - Room 246 on East Campus. There are up to 22 positions available on the cheerleader squad and the college also has mascot positions available. Recent high school graduates who are planning on attending MJC, as well as continuing MJC students are invited to try out for the team that will cheer and entertain at MJC’s home football and basketball games during the 2010-2011 academic year.

MJC is seeking individuals with either cheerleader or dance experience and the auditions are open to both men and women. Students that are selected for the cheerleading team must be enrolled as an MJC student for the fall semester that begins August 30. They are not required to be a full time student.

Women are asked to wear shorts, non-crop tops and tennis shoes to the cheerleading tryouts. Men are asked to wear warm-up pants, t-shirt and tennis shoes. For more information on the auditions contact Linda Cabral, Spirit Club advisor, at (209) 634-6846.
