The Modesto Junior College Nursing Alumni Association awarded $9,000 in scholarships for the fall semester to 12 nursing students enrolled in the MJC Registered Nurse Program, the highest amount yet since the Association was founded in 2000. To date, the Association has awarded $33,000 in nursing student scholarships since its inception. The first two scholarships were awarded in the year 2000 and were for $250 each. This year ten scholarships in the amount of $500 each and two $2000 scholarships were awarded to nursing students needing financial support.

All nurses regardless of where they obtained their nursing education are urged to join the Nursing Alumni Association! The purpose of the Nursing Alumni Association is to provide support and be a community resource to the MJC Nursing program. The Association holds annual fundraising events and sells sweatshirts to raise the scholarship money. Their next fundraiser is being planned for March of 2010.
