Christian musician Lincoln Brewster to perform concert at MJC

Lincoln Brewster, Christian guitarist, singer and songwriter, will perform a benefit concert for Modesto Junior College Baseball on Friday, July 22 at 7 p.m. in the MJC Auditorium of the Performing and Media Arts Center on East Campus. Tickets are $25 for general seating and are available here online. Limited tickets for premium seating and a reception with the artist are $50 and are available by contacting Chris Rodriguez, MJC Baseball Coach, at (209) 575-6274.

Brewster, a Dove Award nominee, has released six albums with Integrity Music, including Today is the Day, Let The Praises Ring, Live To Worship, Amazed, All To You and a self-titled debut. In early 2007, his song “Everlasting God” from Let the Praises Ring hit the top of the Christian radio chart and stayed there for 4 weeks. At the same time, his song “Love The Lord” climbed to third place, giving him two songs in the top 20 simultaneously.

Music has been an part of Brewster’s life since early childhood when he began playing mandolin at age five and later picked up the electric guitar at nine. That love for music took him down a winding road that included a season playing for rocker Steve Perry, the former lead vocalist for Journey, and recording offers from mainstream labels all before he was 21.

However, Brewster, who had made a commitment to Christ in his late teens, walked away from the promise of rock stardom and instead took a position at his local church as a sound technician. Years later, Lincoln is again playing before thousands, this time striving to make a difference in people’s lives by leading others in worship at music festivals and Christian music concerts.
