The Modesto Junior College Theatre Department will present the New Play Fest 2010 on May 14, 15, 21 and 22 at 7:30 p.m. and on May 16 and 23 at 2 p.m. in the Little Theatre of the Performing and Media Arts Center on East Campus.
The New Play Fest is a staging of world premiere plays written by students in the MJC playwriting class. Being performed at this year’s Play Fest are “Twenty Years (I’m Not Counting)” by Jennifer Stonecipher, “State of Consciousness” by Sean Trew, “$200” by Sam Mellor and “Jerry Harnet” by Timothy Glidewell. The short, one-act plays are also directed by these theatre students and include both comedies and dramas showcasing a variety of themes. The Play Fest is produced by Theatre Professor Michael Lynch.
Tickets are $10 general admission and $8 for students and senior citizens and are available in advance online at http://mjc.tix.com and at the door 90 minutes before each performance. Parents should note that some acts include adult language and situations intended for a mature audience.
