The Modesto Junior College Dance Department will present Jam ‘n Jive 2010 on September 23, 24 and 25 at 7:30 p.m. and on September 26 at 2 p.m. in the Auditorium of the Performing and Media Arts Center on East Campus.
Jazz dance comes alive as performers from MJC, Johansen High School, Central Catholic High School, Beyer High School, Downey High School, Strut Dance, Dance Academy, and The Dance Factory “jam ‘n jive” to popular movie theme songs. The dance concert program includes performances to the music of Singing in the Rain, Dirty Dancing, Girls Just Want to Have Fun, James Bond, Austin Powers, Pink Panther, Napoleon Dynamite, New Moon, Mission Impossible, and more!
The program will feature choreography by MJC dance faculty Lori Bryhni and Kim T. Davis, and guest choreographers Tami McQueen, Rebbecca Meyers, Sarah Long, Nick Bentley, Jennifer Pirrone, Jawanda Serenil, Ginger Sharp, Leanne Lacozette, Nancy East, Debbie Holtzclaw, Hollie Bettencourt and Heather Bettencourt.
Tickets are $10 for general admission and $8 for student and senior citizens. Tickets may be purchase in advance on-line at http://mjc.tix.com and at the MJC Box Office on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, 12 noon – 5 p.m., or by calling 575-6776 during these hours. Tickets will also be available at the door 90 minutes before each performance.
