As an MJC student, you are required to pay parking fees daily, or per semester. You can purchase a daily parking pass at any Day Pass Machine (DPM) available in most parking lots.
You may purchase a semester parking permit while paying your enrollment fees, or at any time during a semester. You may purchase your permit online during registration, or at the Business Office. Parking permits are distributed in two styles; hanging permits, or decal permits. Decal permits are reserved for those who own Jeeps, convertible vehicles, mopeds and motorbikes.
Daily Rate: $1.00
Semester Permit: $20.00 for auto/truck
Summer Permit: $7.50 for auto/truck
Motorcycle Permit: $7.50
(Student's who purchase an auto permit for the semester and have proof of a motorcycle license are eligible for free motorcycle permit for the same semester)
Semester *Shuttle Permit: $10.00 for auto/truck
* Note: Shuttle permit good only for lot 203 on West Campus
Parking Permits are Required:
M-F: 24 hours a day
Weekends: No permits required
Parking permits must be picked up in person at the East or West Campus Business Services Office. Picture ID required.
M-F 6am-7pm In designated student stalls
M-Th 7pm-6am In staff parking stalls
Make sure to read Parking Lot signs carefully. Parking lots may be restricted as to which parking permits are valid during specific time periods. There are no special restrictions after the times indicated. Examples:
East Campus:
Parking Lot 103: (between Science Building and Coldwell): Restricted to: Staff (A,T), and Disabled Placard Holders.
Parking Lot 101: (near Baseball Field)
Restricted to: Semester/Annual permits (A, T, S) only
until 12:00 PM (NOON)
West Campus:
Parking Lot 209: Restricted to: Semester/Annual permits (A, T, S) only until 12:00 pm
MICL Building: (area directly in front of MICL), Restricted to MICL Permits only from 8:00 am until 12:00 pm
No overnight parking allowed without advanced written notice to the Campus Safety Office. Contact 575-6351 for appropriate form.
Persons with a valid handicap placard, under Section 22511. 5 CVC, may park in designated disabled parking stalls, or staff parking stalls if no disabled stalls are available. You may not use areas that are not indicated as parking areas. If you have a short-term disability, you may apply for a short-term permit at a Health Services office which will allow you to park closer to your class.
Visitor parking is available to persons that are not students, staff, faculty or guests of YCCD. Visitor parking is only available at spaces marked with a green curb. Visitor Parking is for 30 minutes only.
