Additional Accessibility Features

Links - When applicable, links throughout our site are underlined and standard blue for easy identification. We have limited the opening of links in a new window to only a few external sites as this is generally considered less accessible than opening links in the same window.

Images - When applicable, all graphic images include an alternate description to help viewers with screenreaders "see" the image.

Visual Design - Our site uses Cascading Style Sheets for visual layout and design. Relative font sizes are used instead of fixed font sizes, where applicable. Our site content is readable even when styles sheets is turned off.

JavaScript and Flash - Our site uses limited Flash and JavaScript. When Flash and/or JavaScript are disabled, our site content is still readable and its visual design largely unaffected.

Web Standards and Compliance

Compliance with Web page standards for HTML, CSS and Section 508 is important to the College.  We are conscious about using solid, good Web design practices to create compliant Web pages and have done our best to build pages which are accessible to all. However, ensuring our pages are accessible is an ongoing effort. If you encounter pages that are not accessible, we encourage your report to webmaster@mjc.edu and welcome the opportunity to improve our site's accessibility. In your report, please include:

• Web address (exact URL) of page which you are having trouble viewing
• Detailed description of issue
• Browser type and version you used to view the page
• Platform you used to view the page: PC, Mac, iPhone, etc.
