Modesto Junior College offers numerous scholarships to eligible students. The scholarships, ranging from $200 to $2,000 per year for new and continuing students and up to $3,500 for transfer students. They are sponsored by the College, MJC Foundation, and many community donors.
Scholarships are awarded each spring by the MJC Scholarship Committee, as well as off-campus committees. Committee members review the applicants' scholastic achievements, educational objectives and financial need. Additional factors such as honors, community service and organizational affiliations are also considered.
Usually, a student must be attending full time with a minimum 3.00 grade point average to receive a scholarship. A limited number of scholarships are available for which a minimum GPA of 3.00 is not required.
