Candidates who fulfill the eligibility requirements should announce their intention to run for the Faculty Consultant position by submitting a hardcopy resume to each of the following constituencies: the Columbia College Academic Senate, the Modesto Junior College Academic Senate, and the YFA Representative Council. Candidates will be invited to attend a meeting of each of the above-mentioned constituencies to describe their background and interest in filling this position.
On predetermined dates, each of the constituencies will vote by secret ballot for the candidate of its choice.
1. If all three constituencies select the same candidate, he or she will be the winner by unanimous consent.
2. If two out of three of the constituencies select the same candidate, he or she will be the winner by a two-thirds (2/3) vote.
3. If, under unusual circumstances, there are three finalists and each constituency elects a different one, then there must be a run-off vote by a ranking system (secret ballots in each constituency). The Executive Board of each constituency will run this ranking system and total the points. The final tally will be administered by the YFA Elections Committee.
The Faculty Consultant to the Board of Trustees will be elected every two (2) years and there will be no term limits.
