Using the InteleCom Video Clip Repository

What is the InteleCom Repository?

The Repository is a warehouse of professional produced video clips covering a wide range of educational subjects. Clips are typically 3 to 15 minutes in length. Many clips include the input of educational experts from highly regarded educational institutions. Currently there are 24 academic disciplines covered by the repository ranging from Adult Basic Education, Economics, Health, History, Political Science, Psychology and Sociology (among others).

How do I access the system?

MJC pays for the service. Doing so provides us with unique “login” credentials that all users share. New faculty users should login and explore topics of professional interest in order to see if the information covered in the video clips is relevant to their course objectives.   Use the link on the right to request the access credentials.  NOTE;  the credentials are ONLY available to MJC faculty.

Can I create my own account to save the video clips that I’d like to use in my courses?

Yes, users can create their own personal “ My Clips ” account after they’ve logged-in. The “ My Clips ” account is used to store their selected clips for easy retrieval and re-use at a later date.

Can I use the repository clips from within a Blackboard course shell?

Yes, it’s possible to access and deploy clips directly within a Blackboard Learning Module or Content Folder. However, it’s best to already know the exact title of the clip you’d like to use in Blackboard before you attempt to deploy it using the built-in “Blackboard - InteleCom Repository” tool.

Can I embed video clips in a YouTube-like player format within Blackboard or from another web site?

Yes, this is definitely possible. The full InteleCom website allows users to grab “embed code” that can used to create the YouTube-like player format on any html page.
