Tutoring program provides individual in-home tutoring (or at local library); Offers tutoring for students in grades K-12; Specializes in the subject areas of Mathematics and Language Arts; Provides Supplemental Educational Services through the No Child Left Behind Act; Offers a flexible schedule for students, with tutors available afternoons, evenings, and weekends.
Duties:
-Provide one-to-one tutoring to youth in the home or public library if the parent prefers
-Ongoing assessment of math and reading skills of each student.
-Participate in staff and additional training meetings as needed.
-Complete all paperwork pertinent to tutoring services in a timely manner.
-Enter tutoring session information online promptly after session is completed.
-Be prompt and prepared in attending all scheduled sessions.
-Provide weekly updates and feedback to project coordinator.
-Keep in regular contact with parents/guardians in order to keep a consistent tutoring schedule.
Qualifications:
-Must have own transportation, valid driver’s license, willingness to travel in the specific areas being served throughout Sacramento.
-Must have easy access to a computer and the internet.
-Employment is contingent on passing a Department of Justice and Federal Bureau of Investigation fingerprint background check and obtaining a passing Tuberculosis (TB) Test.
-Minimum of (15) semester college units, or equivalent, with core requirements (Math, Language Arts) completed with a minimum 2.5 GPA (a transcript copy will be required).
