Duties: The Development Coordinator is responsible for all areas of Fund Development for Second Harvest Food Bank of San Joaquin and Stanislaus Counties (SHFB). Responsibilities include the organization and execution of all fundraisers/events, planning all direct marketing campaigns, and the cultivation of corporate donors and community partners. Responsible for all community outreach, public relations and donor cultivation. Also responsible for the coordination of the Volunteer Program and Holiday Food Drives. Represent SHFB in a professional , courteous, and friendly manner when interacting with the community, other professionals, and fellow employees. Maintains the professional image of Second Harvest Food Bank and its mission.

Job Duties:
• Manage Team Leader, Senior Facilitator, Direct Care Staff and Volunteers
• Implement daily classes, program focuses and Individual Service Plans (ISP’s)
• Ensure program compliance with Title 17 and 22
• Assure the daily documentation of consumer activities and evaluate progress
• Prepare and maintain consumer records, such as attendance, weekly consumer summaries, etc.
• Ensure facilitators are correctly assisting consumers to meet their goals and objectives
• Supervise staff in Expanding Horizons and Focal Point programs attend and participate in meetings, workshops and seminars as appropriate for professional development
• Provide training to direct care staff
• Hold weekly staff meetings with direct care staff
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Day Programs and Program Coordinator
Job Qualifications:
• Must be able to pass pre-employment physical and drug/alcohol screen, TB test and criminal background check
• Desired Associate degree and/or 3-4 years of program experience in direct instruction programs and services to disable adults. A minimum of 1 year supervision of staff in this field
• Knowledge of skills necessary for the instruction of independent living skills, mobility assistance, self advocacy, self care, vocational skills and community oriented activities
• Knowledge of the needs of persons with disabilities
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Able to communicate with the general public, funding agencies, care homes, families and persons with disabilities
• Must be able to meet all Department of Social Services requirements
• Must be certified or obtain CPR and First Aid certification
• Must have experience with Microsoft Word and Excel
• Be able to ensure the health and safety of our consumers and staff. Ability to be patient, sensitive and understanding to the needs of persons with developmental disabilities and their families
• Ability to establish a positive working relationship with clients, families, care homes and case workers
• Capable of handling multiple tasks
• Dispense prescription medications according to Title 22 regulations
• Sending notes home with consumers regarding special events and other notifications
• Coordinating Consumer of the Month and perfect attendance awards at the end of each calendar month
• Be able to organize and assist with implementation of program focuses
