The Counseling Center offers walk-in advising on a first-come, first-serve basis. Returning and continuing students may schedule an appointment. On-line advising is available for brief inquiries by clicking here.
Please consult our Office Hours for information on receiving counseling and advising.
The mission of the Counseling Center is to provide transfer and non-transfer students with timely and useful support services and quality information that will assist them in realizing their educational, career, and personal goals.
Counselors provide academic, vocational, and personal counseling services to MJC students. Counselors are available by appointment and on a "walk-in" basis (see Counseling Appointments on the left) to assist students in identifying needs, assessing strengths, and overcoming barriers to fulfilling their educational objectives. All students who have earned 15 units or more should develop an Educational Plan with a counselor.
It is highly recommended that students take a Guidance course (see left menu) as soon as possible upon enrolling at MJC. Valuable information will be covered in the course, including assistance with completion of an Educational Plan.
