Mission Statement
Modesto Junior College is committed to providing CalWORKs and TANF recipients with programs and services that assist them in reaching their goals and prepare them for careers that lead to self sufficiency. We want to help climb the ladder to success!
What is CalWORKs?
CalWORKs (California Work Opportunity and Responsibility to Kids) is a statewide program which receives funding to assist TANF recipients transitioning off TANF to achieve long-term self-sufficiency through coordinated student services offered at community colleges.
CalWORKs Services
Modesto Junior College CalWORKs Program works in conjunction with Stanislaus County Community Services Agency to provide the following direct student support services:
- Career and Academic Counseling
- Work-study
- Subsidized Childcare
- Job Placement
- Textbooks (Book Loan Program)
- Tutoring
- Bus Passes
- Financial Aid
