MJC is now offering the AlertU emergency SMS messaging platform to enhance our emergency communications during crisis situations. AlertU will allow us to broadcast critical information in real time to mobile devices. This is particularly important for people who may be in or near a crisis zone.
• You will never receive any mobile spam.
• No personal information will ever be shared with anyone.
• Only MJC College Administrators will have access to the alerting system.
• The AlertU system will only be used to test the system quarterly and in the event of an emergency/crisis.
• This service is free, though standard text message rates do apply.
It's easy to sign up. Use the "Emergency Alerts" box above to subscribe, or simply text MJC to 253788 and reply Y to the welcome text message.
Support for Cell Phone Carriers
AlertU is supported by all major carriers: Alltel, AT&T, Boost Mobile, Cellular One, Nextel, Sprint, T-Mobile, US Cellular, and Verizon.
AlertU's short code SMS messaging is not supported by Metro PCS. In addition, AlertU may not work with some mall regional carriers, pre-paid phones and mobile virtual network operators (MVNOs).
