General Information about the Computer Labs:
Current MJC students may use MJC computer labs. Non-MJC students may not use the labs. (This isn't because we're being stingy; it's actually a legal issue.) For non-MJC students who wish to use the online registration system to enroll in classes at MJC, there are computers in the Student Center (East Campus) specifically for that purpose. The computer lab facilities should be considered a special type of classroom, and should not be used for recreation (i.e. any purpose not related to MJC classwork).
The Game Room in the Mary Stuart Rogers Student Center (West Campus) contains, in addition to a pool table and arcade games, several computers that students may use for personal email, online chat, shopping, MySpace, and all other non-academic computing.
All MJC Computer Labs have high-speed Internet connection. The computers are fully loaded with a variety of applications such as the Microsoft Office Suite (which includes Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint), and other programs. Specialized programs designed specifically for Business, Music, Agriculture, and Basic Skills can be found in The PLACE, Music Lab, Agriculture Lab, and Center for Learning Assistance (CLA).
MJC East Campus Labs
Student Testing and Resources (STaR) Lab
The STaR Lab and the CLA share a lab in Pirates Village 108. Each computer has Internet access, Microsoft Windows XP, Microsoft Office XP Professional, Statgraphics, and other software applications. The STaR Lab also has a GoPrint vending machine where students may purchase their GoPrint cards. Call 575-6117 for more information.

Center for Learning Assistance (CLA)
The STaR Lab and the CLA share a lab in Pirates Village 108. The lab is fully staffed and contains computers equipped with innovative and engaging software for helping students to develop Basic Skills, as well as applications for general student purposes.

"The PLACE"
Currently sharing lab space in Electronics 114, the "Pathways to Learning Accounting and Computers with Excellence" lab is fully staffed and provides access to both general and business-specific applications. Printing and scanning are available in either black and white or color. There is also a group study area at each end of the room.

This small lab serves MJC music students. Computers are equipped with specialized programs for Music Theory and other related subjects, as well as basic word-processing functions. Call 575-6165 for more information.
Open Computer Lab

The MJC Library building on the east campus houses two computer labs. The Open Computer Lab, which is the largest open lab at MJC, is located inside the Library, near the Circulation Desk. Black and white or color printing and scanning are available, and a GoPrint vending machine is conveniently near. Call 575-6238 for more information.

Even if you don't need tutorial services, this lab is a great resource for general student use if you need a computer or a quiet place to study. Located on the ground floor of Yosemite Hall, the lab is equipped with a copier and a black and white printer.

This is an instructional lab, but it is sometimes open for general student use. Computers have ESL software as well as other applications. Availability changes from semester to semester, so check the schedule posted on the door for open hours.

This spacious, 5-in-1 facility serves as an Open Lab, a Basic Skills Lab, a drop-in Math Help Center, a Writing Center, and a Group Study Area. Black and white printing is available, and a GoPrint card vending machine is conveniently located near the entrance.
