Where can I search for open classes?

What classes should I take if I plan to transfer to a California State University (CSU)? University of California (UC)?

It is recommended that you consult with a counselor or visit the Career Development & Transfer Development, especially if you are considering a “high unit major” (i.e.,  Biology, Engineering, Geology, or Chemistry, etc.)  It is particularly helpful to go to www.assist.org  for a list of transfer major prep courses that can be taken at MJC prior to transfer. How can I get a schedule or catalog?

Class schedules and the Catalog are available online in PDF format. You can also purchase a printed copy of the catalog MJC Bookstore for a nominal fee.


How do I get information on the different programs that are offered by the college?

How many units do I need to take to be a full-time student? 

A minimum of 12 units per semester is considered a full-time load.

What classes should I take my first semester?

It is highly recommended that you attend orientation and then meet with a counselor to discuss appropriate classes for your first semester.  Suggested classes might include one or more of the following:  Guidance, Study Skills, Activities, English, Reading, Math, General Ed (GE), and/or Major Prep courses.
