Want a new future in the exciting world of Technology. ACT now! Enroll at MJC in any one of a sequence of classes that will help you prepare for the
Manufacturing, Automotive, Printing or Electrical Industries. These skill-building programs are hands-on oriented and demanding. In a 4-month, 8-month or 10-month period students are immersed in multiple vocational classes that develop technical skills needed for each respective industry. Class times range from 19 to 36 hours per week.

Manufacturing Operator Pathway
This 17-unit pathway requires you to attend classroom and laboratories 29 hours per week. The program prepares students for active employment in the local manufacturing and food processing industry. Common positions include production technicians, general winery workers, machine operators, and entry-level maintenance personnel. Employment career opportunities typically begin in swing and graveyard shifts.
Welding Technician Pathways
This 23-unit pathway requires you to attend lectures and laboratories 18-21 hours per week. The program prepares students for active employment in the local manufacturing, food processing, fabrication and agriculture industry. Common positions include welders and entry-level maintenance personnel. Employment career opportunities vary.
Manufacturing Mechanic Pathway
This 34-unit pathway requires you to attend classroom and laboratories 26 hours per week. The program prepares students for active employment in the local manufacturing and food processing industry. Common positions include line operators, maintenance technician, line mechanics, & maintenance mechanics. Employment career opportunities vary.
Electrician Pathway
This 28-unit pathway requires you to attend classroom and laboratories 18-22 hours per week. The program prepares students for active employment in manufacturing or construction. Common positions include electrician technician, electrician assistants, electrician apprentice, etc. Employment career opportunities vary.
Air Conditioning/Sheet Metal
This is a 20 unit program that prepares you for a career in the sheet metal and air conditioning industry. The program requires student to be in class 27 hours per week. This is a co-sponsored program with the Air conditioning, Sheet Metal Trades Association (ASTA) and the Associated Building Contractors (ABC)
Flexographic Press Operator Pathway
Rip into your Future! This 23-unit certificate pathway requires you to attend class 18-22 hours per week. You can also “Earn as you Learn,” by qualifying as a student worker at the MJC Print Shop. Common positions include entry-level press operators, pre-press technicians, bindery workers and job printers. Employment career opportunities exist for day and swing shifts.
Automotive Technician Program
This 30-unit pathway requires you to attend lecture and laboratories 25-27 hours per week. The program prepares students for employment in the automotive repair and service industry. Employment career opportunities exist in automotive dealerships, independent repair shops.
Automotive Brakes and Suspension Pathway
This 13-unit pathway requires you to attend lecture and laboratories 20.5 hours per week. The program prepares students for employment in the automotive repair and service industry in quick lube stations, and shops specializing in brakes, tires and suspension. Employment career opportunities exist for day, swing, and weekend shifts.
