Grant Innovations Office (GIO) at Modesto Junior College
The Modesto Junior College Grant Innovations Office is designed to enhance and sustain programs and services at Modesto Junior College through the development of additional grant funding sources for college priority activities.

The Grant Innovations Office is here to develop Federal, State and Local grant proposals for both new and existing college programs and services as well as community partnership projects developed through the college processes. The Grant Innovations Office has, to date, generated over $1.86 MILLION in additional resources for faculty, students and staff since its inception in 2008.

Awarded grants to date include:

  • Linking After-School Employment to Career Pathways (CCC Chancellor's Office) funded at $125,000
  • S-STEM Agricultural Science Scholarship Grant (NSF) funded at $598,000
  • Career and Technical Education (CTE - CCC Systems Office) funded at $400,000
  • CTE Workforce Innovation Partnerships Grant (CTE - CCC Systems Office) funded at $250,000
  • Advanced Technology and Education (ATE - NSF) funded at $149,600
    As of the end of April, 2009, over $1.86 million in projects and scholarships were successfully funded thanks to Modesto Junior College's innovative response to fiscal challenges.
