Modesto Junior College Community Education is excited to announce a partnership with The Center for Legal Studies. We will be offering a Paralegal Training program for you start a new career, or increase the efficiency of your current office.

This is an intensive program. You will learn to assist trial attorneys, interview witnesses, investigate complex fact patterns, research the law, and assist in preparing cases for courtroom litigation. Prerequisite is a high school diploma or equivalent. There is a large amount of reading and writing in this course.

The paralegal profession is expected to grow at a rate of approximately 8% in our valley. The Paralegal Certificate Course (offered both live and online) in combination with the Advanced Paralegal Certificate Course is designed to meet the requirements of the California Business and Professions Code 6450 (360 clock hours). Upon completion of both courses, students will be properly trained to seek out employment in any state and students with a bachelor's degree in any subject will be eligible to sit for the National Association of Legal Assistants' Certified Paralegal exam.

The classes will enable you to continue working and still complete the course.

The Paralegal Core class (Beginning) will be offered both in a live format and online. If we do not have at least 5 students enrolled in the live course, you will have the option to register for the online course.

The Advanced Paralegal course is required only in the State of California. The curriculum is only offered online. There are 15 courses from which you choose 6. You can take up to 3 courses each 7-week session.
