What is MJC Camps for Kids?
MJC Camps for Kids at MJC Community Education is a dream that has taken a long time to bring to reality. We are proud to offer your child a wide variety of fun and engaging camps to choose from. Our camps are designed to stimulate curiosity, reinforce basic skills, and help kids discover new subjects, but most of all, a place to have a fun summer! Our camps are for age groups 5-7 and 8-11, so your child will be with children their own ages and abilities. Camps are full days, starting at 9:00 a.m. and ending at 4:00 p.m. - with optional AM Early Morning Kids Club and PM After Hours Kids Club (see information below).

Camp Schedule
MJC's Camps for Kids for children ages 5 to 7 will run the weeks of June 15-19, June 22-26, June 29-July 3, July 13-17 and July 20-24 - the camps run from 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. Monday thru Friday. You select a morning (AM) class and an afternoon (PM) class on pages 9-13 from your child's age group.

MJC's Camps for Kids for ages 8 to 11 will run the weeks of June 29-July 3, July 13-17, July 20-24, July 27-31 and August 3-7 - the camps run from 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. Monday thru Friday. You select a morning (AM) class and an afternoon (PM) class on pages 9-13 from your child's age group.

NOTE: You MUST select a SECOND CLASS CHOICE in case your first choice is full.
Campers will have a supervised lunch from 12:00 p.m.-1:00 p.m.

Cost for Camp
The cost of each week-long camp (Monday-Friday), 9 a.m.-4 p.m., is $184 per camp week if you register before May 31, 2009 and $198 for any camp week registration after May 31, 2009. Most classes have a material fee added to cover the cost of the supplies needed for student projects (see registration form and class descriptions). In addition to the camp fee, there will be a one-time Campers Fee of $10 - includes a free Official 2009 MJC's Camps for Kids T-shirt. If space is available, you can register for individual classes one week prior to the camp start date at $99 each class.

What is AM Kids Club and PM Kids Club?
We are aware that many times it is hard to coordinate the times for activities such as these with your work schedule, so we are offering AM Kids Club (Early Morning) 7:30-9:00 a.m., and PM Kids Club (After Hours) 4:00-5:30 p.m. to help. The children will be supervised and will play games, sing songs and participate in fun activities during these times. Each club (AM or PM) has a cost of $25 for the week - both AM and PM Kids Clubs would be $50 per week.

What should my child bring to camp?
Each child should bring a morning and afternoon snack, a brown-bag lunch (that does not need to be refrigerated) and waters for your child - PLEASE PUT YOUR CHILD'S NAME ON LUNCH BAG, SNACKS AND DRINKS! Some camps have specific things that need to be brought to class, see the camp description to see what is required.

Camp confirmation
Once we receive your registration form we will send you a "Campers Package" with your confirmation, emergency forms and additional information. You MUST return your signed form(s) to us before the camp begins or your child will not be able to attend the first session. Please send them in early, so you don't forget.

Does my child need to be signed in and out?
Your child is very important to us. We will require that he/she be signed in and out of camp each day. You can choose to do that yourself or if your child is 10 or older, you can give them permission to do it themselves (permission form will be in your Campers Packet). Campers cannot be dropped off before 8:45 a.m. and must be picked up at 4:00 p.m. sharp, unless they are enrolled in the AM Kids Club or PM Kids Club.

Refund Policy
Please choose carefully - because this is such a large program, we will not be able to offer refunds, transfers or credits in fairness to children and their parents who have committed to our program and signed up on a first-come, first-served basis.

Policy on Behavior
All campers are expected to conduct themselves in a manner that demonstrates courtesy and respect for others and the facilities. Disruptive students will be dismissed from the program and the parents will be contacted to pick them up. You will receive a Student Conduct Form in your Campers Packet which will need to be signed by you and your child(ren) before they can begin camp. Please review this behavior policy with your child.

May I attend class with my child?
No, sorry. We ask that you do not go into the classroom while camp is in session so the instructor and students are not disrupted. Many of the camps have either projects to take home or presentations that will be given on the last day of camp, which you will be invited to attend.
