Kids Beginning Cake Decorating (Ages 8-14)
Learn the basics of cake decorating. This beginning class uses 1/2 of a sheet cake board to practice basic borders NOTE: Kids must bring their supplies on first day of class. Bring to class: 1 - 8 in. decorating bag with bag coupling, Lily Flower nail kit, #7 flower nail and the following decorating tips: #4, #16, #30, #47, #67, #71, #80, #104, #136, #190, #199 and #2-F. Kid Kuisine: Baking (Ages 8-13)
In this Kid Kuisine class the main focus will be bread making. Young bakers will be introduced to baking science. You will learn proper hygiene and safe baking practices, and while you wait for the bread to rise, teams will continue to work on fun treats to take home.
NOTE: Bring an apron.

Kid Kuisine (Ages 8-13)
Kid Kuisine is a fun-filled instructive class that will introduce you to the world of culinary arts. Young culinarians will learn proper hygiene, safe food handling, and basic cooking principles, as well as how to serve a complete made-from-scratch meal. You will work in teams.
NOTE: Bring an apron.

YOUTH MUSIC

Guitar for Kids (Ages 10-15)
Learn basic guitar chords and simple songs. With an emphasis on playing right away the main focus will be to have you playing simple chords and songs on the guitar. No musical experience necessary.
NOTE: Bring a size-appropriate acoustic guitar.

Fun with Piano I (Ages 7-10)
Learn the piano the fun way! These lessons will teach you note-reading. You will be playing real songs. Recital at the end of each class. Limited class size. Great experience!

Electronic Keyboarding for Kids (Ages 10-15)
The electronic keyboard is more versatile, allowing kids to create fun riffs and ornaments. Have a cool time learning the keyboard as you record and playback your work. Featured for this class is “Best of the Beatles”.

Suzuki Piano
Suzuki’s success has proven not only that young children are capable of learning to play an instrument, but also that they derive genuine pleasure from their music making. In addition to the monthly group lesson held at Modesto Junior College, you will pay for a weekly private lesson arranged through the Suzuki Piano Coordinator. Call 575-6063 for an application. After acceptance into the program, a semester fee of $25 per family is payable to MJC. There is a waiting list, so please plan ahead. Dates, locations and times vary for Suzuki group lessons. Please check with your NOTE: Ask for or download an application for Suzuki Piano at www.mjc.edu/commed. You will not pay the $25 semester fee until AFTER you have been assigned a teacher by the Suzuki Piano Coordinator. Suzuki Application.
