Adult Sewing
Do you want to learn how to: Sew and alter your own clothes? Sew for your home? Use your own sewing machine? This course is designed to help the beginner develop basic sewing skills and to take the mystery and frustration out of the process of operating a sewing machine. Taught by an expert sewing instructor, this course will teach you how to operate and troubleshoot a sewing machine, read a commercial pattern, purchase fabric, cut and sew your project.
Projects: double drawstring bag, pillow with zipper and an apron. Sewing machines provided or bring your own (in good working condition) to first class, along with bobbins and operating manual.

Adult Sewing the Next Step
Let’s build on your basic skills–seam finishes, pleats, bias tape/facing and pattern suitability, darts, lap zipper application, facings and hems. Students will choose an easy pattern to make a garment.
Sewing machines provided or bring your own machine on first day (in good working condition) along with bobbins and operating manuals.

Beginning Knitting
By making a scarf you will learn the basics of knitting - casting on, knitting, purling, and binding off.

Intermediate Knitting

Simple Alterations
Why are you wasting money at the tailor every time you lose a button or need your pants hemmed? Learn how to do simple hem, waist, seam and dart alterations for your ready-made clothes or to finish home made clothes. You will learn skills that will save you money for years (or make money doing alterations). Make your clothes last longer and fit you better.
Bring items from home each session to work on. A working knowledge of sewing machine and beginning sewing techniques is required. Sewing machines provided or bring your own (on first day) in good working condition along with bobbins and operating manual.
