ONLINE CLASA - Making Age an Asset in Your Job Search
This course, based on research and programs developed by AARP, is a guide for older workers looking to make a career change, find employment opportunities, or learn strategies that give them the best chance of getting hired. You’ll discover how you can capitalize on your age and experience as you reposition yourself in today’s workplace. You’ll find out how to use the AARP Foundation’s exciting new interest and skills-assessment tool, WorkSearch. By the end of the course, you’ll have completed a self-assessment so you’ll know what kind of job is most suited to you, developed a résumé and cover letter, and prepared for that all-important interview.

ONLINE CLASS - Twelve Steps to a Successful Job Search
Get the job you want quickly and easily and in any economy. In this course, a world-renowned author and career advisor will help you identify the job that is best for your needs. You’ll then be given complete step-by-step instructions on how to get that job, regardless of your level of expertise or state of the economy. You will learn how to build rapport with any interviewer, both verbally and non-verbally, while mastering the six phases of a successful job interview. This motivational course will increase your confidence, help you feel great about yourself, and provide you with the foundation you need to get the job you want.

Medical Insurance Billing I
Learn step-by-step direction in: How to complete the universal claim form CPT and ICD-9 coding, rules and regulations for Medicare, private insurance, and the Blues. Modifiers - what they are and how to use them to increase reimbursement, and much more. No tape recorders, please. $55 material fee paid to instructor (cash only) for a comprehensive manual. Prerequisite: Medical Billing I or equivalent knowledge. In this class we will cover the following: HCPCS Coding, Medi-Cal, Tricare, legal aspects of collections, basics of managed care and creative ways to find employment as an insurance biller. No tape recorders. $50 material fee paid to instructor at class - cash only. Please arrive 15 minutes early to purchase material. You must take both Billing I & II for a certificate. Computerized Medical Insurance Billing - Home Study Program
Prerequisite: Medical Billing I or taking it concurrently or previous knowledge of medical insurance billing form completion and familiar with CPT and ICD-9 coding. NOT compatible with Mac or Apple.
Need to use IBM or compatible (Windows 2000, Windows XP, Vista or equivalent). You will set up a typical group practice. You have two months to complete the class (takes 15 to 20 hours). For a certificate of completion for this class you will be required to send in class assignment explained to you at orientation. $60 material fee (cash only) paid at orientation for manual, and CD software demo. Prerequisite: Medical Insurance Billing I & II or previous knowledge of medical billing claim form completion. Learn what you need to start a medical billing service from your home. Some topics covered: How to set your fees; Medical billing software vendors; Marketing your services; Sample contracts; Scripts of the questions doctors ask you and the answers. Certificates will be issued. No tape recorders. $50 material fee to be paid to instructor - cash only, for a comprehensive manual, a list of software vendors and clearing houses.
