Day one is an overnight flight.
Day two arrive in Cairo where a special welcome reception dinner will be held.
Day three travel to one of the seven ancient wonders of the world - the Pyramids of Giza. In the afternoon, travel south to visit the site of ancient Memphis, where you will see the oldest of all the pyramids, the Step pyramid.
Day four explore the remarkable collections of the Museum of Egyptian Antiquities, including statues and treasures of the tomb of Tutankhamen. Later transfer for your flight to Luxor.
Day five tour ancient Thebes as you cross over to the West Bank of the Nile to visit the Valley of the Kings and Queens, the Temple of Queen Hatsheput at Deir El Bahari, and the Colossi of Memnon. This afternoon tour the massive complex of the Temple of Karnak.
Day six return to the West Bank to visit the tombs in the Valley of Nobles. Embark on your Nile cruise this afternoon. This evening after dinner, return to the Temple of Karnak for the sound and light show.
Day seven begins sailing down the mighty Nile, arriving in Esna. This afternoon continue on toward Edfu.
Day eight visit the well-preserved Temple of Horus at Edfu. Following lunch, set sail for Kom Ombo where you will tour the famous double sanctuary.
Day nine arrive in Aswan where after lunch on board ship, sail to Kitchener Island for a stroll through the botanical gardens. The ship remains in Aswan overnight.
Day ten disembark the cruise ship this morning. Visit the High Dam, the Granite Quarries and the ancient Philae Temple of Isis.
Day eleven you may choose an optional tour to Abu Simbel where you will see the extraordinary temples built by Pharaoh Ramses II, which were moved to their present site during construction of the Aswan High Dam. Note: You must reserve this optional excursion when booking the tour. The additional price is: $299.00. Afterwards fly from Aswan to Cairo where you will have some leisure time before your farewell dinner.
Day twelve your tour ends on a spectacular vacation.

Day seven travel along one of the most beautiful coastal routes in the world, the Ring of Kerry.
Day eight you will be treated to a time-honored Irish jaunting car ride, weather permitting. Next tour the beautiful Muckross House and Gardens. Your day ends in Limerick where a city tour awaits showcasing King John’s Castle and Treaty Stone while learning about the fascinating history of the "city of the violated treaty."
Day nine journey to the stunning, 700ft high Cliffs of Moher for awe-inspiring views of the mighty Atlantic and the Aran Islands. This new tour showcases beautiful bays and historic railways of New England.
The tour begins in Boston.
Day two you will tour this historic city before you head to Portland, Maine your home for the next two nights. Tonight you will enjoy a welcome dinner of fresh native lobster dinner.
Day three tour the city featuring the Portland Harbor Museum and board a ferry for a cruise of Casco Bay. The rest of the day is at your leisure.
Day four depart Maine and journey to North Conway, New Hampshire and board the Conway Scenic Railroad for a ride past sheer bluffs, steep ravines, cascading brooks and streams across the famed Frankenstein Trestle and Willey Brook Bridge.

Day two in Vienna, Austria.

Day four depart Vienna and travel to the medieval town of Durnstein. Embark on a cruise on the Danube River going through Wachau Valley. Later visit the Benedictine Abbey in Melk, before continuing on to Salzburg.

Day seven enjoy a performance of the Passion Play. During the Thirty Year War, the village of Oberammergau made a vow that if God spared them from the Black Plague that was sweeping the region they would perform a passion play honoring the life of Christ every ten years. The performers are native Oberammergauers. To lend authenticity to the performance, the cast start to grow their hair and beards more than a year in advance and the intricate costumes are made locally by the villagers.
Day eight visit Wies Church and admire its marvelous interior of woodcarvings, frescoes, stuccos and colorful paintings. Continuing on the route, view Neuschwanstein, the most famous castle in Bavaria on your way to the Rhine Falls, Europe’s most powerful waterfall. Spend the night in the Black Forest.
Day nine visit Chateau de Chillon. Continue on into the fabulous Swiss Alps. Upon arrival in Tasch, board a local train for the short ride to the spectacular Alpine village of Zermatt.
Day ten tour the village and the balance of the day is yours to explore.
Day eleven travel to the city of Lucerne, the "Swiss paradise on the Lake". Enjoy a leisurely-paced walking tour exploring the hidden treasures of the city with more than 800 years of history. This afternoon travel to the Swiss capital of Bern.

While traveling on our day trips, a Modesto Junior College staff member will accompany you on the trip. Relax, enjoy new sights and let us make the worry-free arrangements. You will receive a letter 7-10 days before the trip, giving you a short itinerary and the location and a map of where you will depart for your trip. You should arrive at least 15 minutes before the time of departure. Travel will be by deluxe motor coach. You will not have to pay for parking in the parking lots on campus on Saturdays and Sundays. During the week you can purchase a parking permit for $1 (four quarters or $1 bill) in the permit-dispenser box that is located in each parking lot. Put the Parking Permit on your dash.
