Modesto Junior College East & West campuses are served by the Modesto public transit system "Modesto Area Express" (MAX). Modesto Junior College students with a valid and current Student ID (available in the Campus Life office located inside the East Campus Student Center) can ride MAX busses anywhere within the city of Modesto at a discounted rate.

MJC East Campus is served by MAX routes 30, 31, and 33. MJC West Campus is served by MAX routes 33 and 36.

Inter-Campus Shuttle
Modesto Junior College students & staff may utilize the Prime Shine Pirate Express, that will operate between MJC's East and West Campuses beginning in 2006. The shuttle runs Monday through Thursday. StaRT
MJC students living outside of the areas served by MAX are encouraged to utilize the Stanislaus Regional Transit system. MJC students with a valid ID card are eligible for reduced fare ride cards which can be purchased from the MJC Business Services Office for $17 per 20 rides. StaRT riders can transfer to MAX busses, Ceres Dial-A-Ride, Ceres Area Transit, Escalon Dial-A-Ride (SJRTD) Riverbank/Oakdale Transit Authority (ROTA) and Turlock's BLST for only 25 cents, and tranfers to Route 40 (Westside Stage), Route 45 (Westside Runabout), & the Newman Dial-A-Ride are FREE. Dial-A-Ride
Modesto Area Dial-A-Ride is a publicly funded paratransit provider operating specialized van service for persons with disabilities, and senior citizens who are unable to use the MAX fixed-route bus service. Modesto Area Dial-A-Ride provides local paratransit service within the Modesto, Empire, and Salida areas under contract to the City of Modesto Transit Division. Eligible Modesto Junior College students may use Dial-A-Ride to access both campuses from anywhere in the greater Modesto metropolitan area for a flat $2 fee.
