  • Women's Tennis - Congratulations to the MJC Women’s Tennis team who defeated Foothill College to earn a spot in the Northern California Regional Championship matchthis Saturday, April 18, at 1 p.m. at MJC!  MJC will play Fresno City College for the right to advance to the State Championship.The Lady Pirates, led by head coach Milan Motroni, currently are the only undefeated women’s community college tennis team in the State of California! Congratulations to team members Vanessa Teves (Enochs HS), Chiara Adamo (Tracy HS),  Britney Leon (Pitman HS), Parker Pilati (Escalon HS), Rebekah Jacobson (East Union HS), Kristi Van Diver (Ripon HS) and Virginia Lee (Modesto HS).

  • MJC Scholar Team Award Winners - MJC Men’s Golf is proud to announce that the 2014 Team has been selected to receive a California Community College Athletic Association Scholar Team Award to be presented at the Celebration of Student Athletes Awards Luncheon on April 1.

         The Scholar Team Award requires that a team have a 3.0 GPA or higher and have demonstrated athletic excellence. This is the third time in the last five years that the MJC Men’s Golf Team has won this award, winning also in 2010 and 2011.
         Additionally, six members of the 2014 Team transferred to four-year universities including A.J. Borges (Texas Tech.), Robert Wikoff (University of the Pacific), Austen Cardoza (University of Nevada, Las Vegas), Kris Mayfield (San Francisco State University), Carson Ellington (California State University, Stanislaus) and Ryan Jones (Missouri Valley College).  

  • 16th Annual Beer, Wine and Gourmet Food Celebration - On May 8 (6:30-9:30pm) at the MJC West Campus Mary Stuart Rogers Student Center, MJC Athletics is holding its annual Beer, Wine and Gourmet Food fundraiser, cosponsored by the MJC Foundation.  Local wineries, breweries and food establishments take part by serving food and drink to patrons.  There will also be a silent auction and sports memorabilia to bid on.  The cost is $35.  For tickets contact MJC Athletics at (209)575-6835.

  • Hawaiian Concert Night - On May 22 (6-8:00pm)  MJC Athletics is co-sponsoring a concert with John Cruz, a top Hawaiian music performer. This Hawaiian concert is a fundraiser for the athletic department.  Ticket prices are $10 presale and $12 at the door. The event is being co-sponsored by ASMJC.  All MJC students with college ID will be admitted free of charge.  John Cruz was named the Best Singer Songwriter by Hawaii Magazine and was awarded the Na Hoku Hanohano Award for Contemporary Album of the Year. MJC Athletics Events Streamed Online - The ASMJC is live streaming various MJC sporting events.  The ASMJC Productions page will stream to: http://www.youtube.com/user/ASMJCProductions, which will have entire game footage, highlight videos, and other videos from around the college.
