  2. Submit an application for admission to the Modesto Junior College Admissions Office.
  3. Verify that all transcripts (high school or equivalent and other colleges) are on file in the Records Office prior to the program application deadline. The Records Office will accept hand-carried transcripts in an envelope sealed with an official school seal.
  4. Submit a Dental Assisting Program application to Allied Health between February 1 and April 15 of each year. If space is still available after April 15, applications will continue to be accepted until all spaces are filled or August 15, which ever comes first. Applications are available from Allied Health during the application period listed above.
  5. Schedule an appointment to complete the MJC Assessment Tests. This requirement must be met by the program application deadline. Students who succeed in the Dental Assisting Program have typically met the following competencies.

  6. In addition, accepted applicants must submit proof of:

The physical must state that the applicant does not have any health conditions that would create a hazard to self, employees, or patients.

    B. Documentation of required immunizations.

    C. A negative PPD skin test. A negative result must be obtained. If a positive reaction is obtained, or has previously been obtained, a chest x-ray must be taken unless medically contraindicated.
  7. The Dental Assisting Program will offer a CPR course for all accepted applicants. Details regarding date, time, location and cost will be included in the acceptance letter. CPR certification must be from the American Heart Association or the Red Cross; for infant, child and adult; eligible for recertification; and current throughout the program.
