The Admissions Office is responsible for the admission of new and returning students to the college and the enrollment of all students into MJC credit and non-credit courses. Students can add or drop classes after registration, file for pass/no pass (formerly credit/no-credit), and file for grade improvement. Admissions verifies student enrollment for insurance, loan deferment and training verification purposes. Verifications generally require 10 working days to process. The first two verifications are free and each additional verification request is $3. Verifications can be provided within 24 hours for a fee of $10, or on an emergency basis for a fee of $20. Verifications will not be issued for students who have a financial obligation to the college or any other type of hold on their records.
Most admissions services are available on our website at www.mjc.edu. The college also provides a telephone registration system (209-549-7000). Both systems are available seven days per week from 6 a.m. until 11 p.m. The Student Help Desk, in addition to the Admissions Office, is staffed during the Summer, Monday-Thursday from 7:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. The campus is closed on Fridays during the summer from April 28th through August 14th.
